Is BuildClinical collecting PHI, PII, and personal data?

BuildClinical is a marketing organization that collects information from prospective participants based on screening questions relevant to clinical study protocol(s). We securely store this information so it can be accessed and utilized by our customers. Since Build Clinical does not meet the definition of a "Covered Entity" the information we store is not considered PHI although depending on our customers use case when it is transferred to them it might then become PHI.

All potential participants provide explicit consent before their information is collected and shared, acknowledging that BuildClinical owns the data they are providing and may provide their personal information to the research site to determine study eligibility. This consent statement is presented at the bottom of each screening form, along with links to BuildClinical's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

In addition BuildClinical supports compliance with related data protection regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA. We welcome customers to review our privacy and security practices in the context of any of these settings.
