7.0.0 Release Notes
Foundation – Release Notes 2026
June 24, 2026
This release brings calling, texting, and email into Foundation, adds an automation builder for
outreach, introduces configurable lead status workflows, and rebuilds the dashboard.
New
Call and text leads without leaving Foundation
A Communications panel on the lead details page lets you call or text a lead using your study's phone number, so you never have to expose your personal number. The dialer fills in the lead's number automatically, you can type notes while a call is connected and carry them into a wrap-up screen that saves as a contact attempt, and the panel can be dragged out of the way.
Incoming calls to the study number can be forwarded to a number you provide.
Manage inbound texts in the message center
A Message Center panel on the lead list groups incoming messages by lead, showing the most recent message, phone number, and timestamp for each. You can open the full thread, mark a conversation unread to flag it for follow-up, and see a read receipt on the most recent inbound message. Outgoing messages are labeled with the name of the team member who sent them.
Send emails to leads and save reusable templates
You can now email a lead from the Email tab on their details page. A new Email Templates tab in Study Settings lets you create, edit, and delete templates with a rich text editor, set a From Name, and use `{first_name}` to personalize the body.
Automate texts and emails with the automation builder
A new Automation Builder lets you name an automation, choose whether it sends a text or an email, and have it fire automatically when its trigger conditions are met. From the automation
list you can activate, deactivate, edit, and delete automations. The builder includes guidance
on adding STOP language to your text messages so leads always know how to opt out.
Build your own lead status workflow
A new Study Settings page includes a Lead Status tab where you can see the statuses
active in your study, add custom statuses, rename and recolor the configurable ones, and reorder them. Your statuses appear in the change-status modal, as filter tabs on the lead list, on a progress bar in the lead details header, recruitment funnel, and in the monthly performance report email.
Import leads from your own sources
An Import Leads button on the My Studies page lets you pick a site and form, download a
template, name your source, and upload a CSV. Imported leads are kept separate from
BuildClinical-sourced leads, are excluded from study analytics, and can be filtered by source
using the new Lead Source filter on the lead list.
New recruitment funnel and lead source dashboards
The dashboard now has tabs for viewing all studies together or one study at a time, with metrics
grouped into sections. Two new charts join it: a Recruitment Funnel showing lead counts by
status with conversion rates between them, and a Lead Source donut chart showing where your leads came from. Dashboard metrics now respect your site permissions, so you only see data for sites you've been granted access to.
See a lead's full activity history
The Notes tab on a lead's record is now an Activity Log that shows every status change,
note, and contact attempt in one table, newest first, with the category, whether contact was
made, the note itself, and who submitted it. Timestamps display in your own time zone.
